I bounced down the sub bass and shifted the notes to the left slightly so the the notes would begin right before the tail of the kick ended. The notes were about a dotted 16th note in length (16th+32nd).Įven after all of this something wasn't quite right. (I didn't use any sidechain compression). The duration of the sub notes isn't a full eighth note as I previously thought. A little distortion on a sine wave may yield a similar effect. I ended up using a saw wave and filtering with a hi-cut at 200hz to keep some of the harmonics. I was surprised to find that sine wave for the bass sub didn't quite fit the bill. There is isn't much of a decay on the kick amp envelope and the release is right on the upbeat so sub in the kick should last for an eighth note total. Again this is on the My Forbidden Game track. I've been experimenting like crazy for the last few hours using frequency analyzers and such. ![]()
